The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament has demanded an explanation from the contractor of Mbuya Hospital, Bolun Zheng from China National Aero Technology International Engineering Corporation, regarding the completion timeline for the hospital. Originally scheduled for completion in 2020, the project deadline was extended to 30th June 2023. An investment of 106 billion shillings was made, with the contractor receiving 69 billion of the total sum. Committee members conducted a site visit to Mbuya to assess the construction progress and were alarmed to find the site deserted, with overgrown grass indicating a lack of ongoing work.

Government is set to roll out a verification exercise of all public officers who were not verified or partially verified during the special Audit of the payroll by the Auditor General. This exercise is expected to start on March 11th until May 17th 2024. It will take place at the National Archives and Records Center in Kampala.
