The Muslim community today awoke to a long queue along John Babiiha Avenue where about 15,000 translated and non-translated Qurans were being given out to the faithful, ahead of the holy fasting month, Ramathan. According to Sheikh Haruna Rashid Kasangaki, one of the organizers of this charity, they are looking to help Muslims recite the Quran easily during Ramadan, which starts on March 11. The Qurans consist of translations into Luganda, with plans afoot to have these translated into Swahili and French. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda

Uganda, like many other Low-Income Countries, faced significant economic challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One aspect of this recovery strategy was the utilization of Special Drawing Rights or SDRs, which are international reserve assets created by the International Monetary Fund to provide much-needed liquidity to countries facing economic crises. In August 2021, Uganda received a significant allocation of SDRs worth approximately USD 492 million, to contribute to the country's recovery efforts. However, while the SDRs helped Uganda through the difficult COVID-19 years, the utilization of these funds has not been transparent, which raises broader concerns about Uganda’s rising public debt and economic recovery. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
