The former Leader of Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga, has explained that the Parliamentary Commission was justified in granting him a 500 million shilling gratuity, as it was approved by the house. Speaking in Luganda on a talk show at CBS radio, Mpuuga added that he is yet to receive the money, which has now put him at odds with his National Unity Platform Party. Congolese refugees of Tutsi origin living in Rwanda are calling on the international community and regional bodies to intervene in the conflict in Eastern Congo. They state that many of their relatives are being killed by the Interahamwe militia. The refugees expressed their concerns to members of a fact-finding mission from the Forum of Parliaments in the Great Lakes region, who visited Mahama camp in Rwanda's Kirehe district. Internal auditors across departments have received a call to action, emphasizing the importance of continuous research and knowledge expansion to tackle the issues stemming from unreliable statistics, as highlighted by Professor Moses Muhwezi, Dean of Makerere Business School. Professor Muhwezi delivered this message during the recent graduation ceremony of the Institute of Internal Auditors, where 32 students successfully completed their auditing studies.
The Country Director, Water Aid Uganda, Jane Sembuche, has highlighted the critical gap in access to clean water, decent toilets, and proper hygiene practices across Ugandan communities. Sembuche made the remarks at a stakeholders meeting aimed to address the pressing need for increased financing in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector within Uganda.

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline project has moved to support households affected with skills and starter inputs to boost their agricultural production in Mubende and Lwengo districts.
