Research conducted by Makerere and Kyambogo Universities has recommended the implementation of policies that support re-entry of teenage mothers into school. The country has an estimated 25% of teenage mothers and according to researchers, interventions need to be put in place to support them, either to resume school or acquire skills.
Minister of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities Tom Butime has urged the tourism industry sector to work as a team to attract more visitors to the country. This was during the inauguration of a new Uganda Tourism Board chairperson at Mystil hotel in Kampala Pearl Kakooza replaces Daudi Migereko with a team of other members: Steven Masaba, Tony Grace Mugaizi, Rashid Kiyimba, Vivian Lyazzi, Kawara Kazoba, Lilly Ajarova and Olive Lumonya and Salli Sandra.

Authorities in the Masaka region express concern over rising cases of child and youth trafficking attributed to abject poverty and unemployment in rural and urban communities. Police investigations, alongside probation officers and community development officers from various non-governmental organizations, reveal that many children aged 15 to 17 are trafficked by relatives to work as maids, but some are subjected to defilement and pregnancy. A group of coffee nursery bed operators from various parts of the country, who were contracted to supply coffee seedlings on behalf of the Uganda Coffee Development Authority, have decried the government's delay in paying them. The operators marched to parliament with a petition for intervention to have their money paid. According to the group, the government, through UCDA, signed an agreement with nursery bed operators from different parts of the country to supply coffee seedlings to farmers.
