The Uganda Human Rights Commission is concerned about the living and working conditions of the Uganda Police Force Personnel. In a report titled SQUEEZING WATER OUT OF A STONE, the UHRC reveals that Police Personnel deliver services under a harsh working and living environment which. Mariam Wangadya the Chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission presented a number of challenges captured in the report including unfairness in deployments, transfers and promotions in the institution which she says have fueled human rights abuse by police officers.

A large fraction of domestic workers going to the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, according to Ministry of Labour & Gender officials, can hardly read or interpret a job contract document, leaving them at the mercy of agents who negotiate salaries. This situation leaves them exposed to exploitation and sometimes death, without insurance. The government is mooting a strategy to start insuring the workers, the majority of whom are female. Some members of the Uganda Law Society have told NTV that they are going to boycott tomorrow's launch of the New Law Year organized by the judiciary. Speaking to NTV, Eron Kizza, a member of the society, said that the planned boycott is meant to express their discontent with the judiciary after the High Court issued an order blocking the extraordinary meeting that was meant to discuss the independence of the judiciary and rule of law. However, the Uganda Law Society president has said that most members will attend tomorrow’s function, which is expected to be graced by the president. The UNDP representative to Uganda Attafuah is Calling upon all sector players for a collective effort in aggressively marketing and branding Uganda's tourism. During her visit to Murchison falls national park, Ms. Elsie Attafuah was impressed by the mighty Murchison Falls also known as Kabalega falls and urged the private sectors to continue investing in tourism facilities as the government improves the infrastructure to improve accessibility of tourist attractions spread across the country. Accompanied by the Executive Director Lilly Ajarova, Atafuah expressed total commitment to support Uganda’s tourism. According the tourism performance report of last financial year of 2022-2023, indicates Uganda's tourism recovering from the effects of covid 19 above 50% attributed to good infrastructure and favorable, product development and availability of the recovery funds.
