Civil Society organizations are concerned that the government is not doing enough to fight corruption. The good governance and accountability activists say corruption has become very sophisticated yet government agencies that were created to fight the vice cannot handle the sophistication. A total of 24 referees from eleven aside football, futsal and Beach Soccer have been approved to receive the FIFA Badges this year in a function that was presided over by FUFA president, Moses Magogo last evening at FUFA House in Mengo. While handing over the badges to the referees, Magogo urged the referees to be mindful of the cardinal principles of refereeing when executing their duties. Leaders and residents in Kikuube town council have accused China Railway Seventh Group, a construction company, of constructing a stormwater drainage system in the middle of another road. Hussein Bwami, The town clerk of Kikuube town council says that the drainage which was dug near Byarubanga street is affecting the town's physical plan. Elsie G. Attafuah’s tour of duty as Resident Representative at the United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) for Uganda has come to an end. Starting from a challenging period of Covid19 in 2019, Elsie leaves on a high note after accomplishing several of those tasks that were laid before her. National Water and Sewerage Corporation has started improving Water Supply and Sanitation for Fort Portal, Hoima and Lira cities. This comes after government secured funds from the Agency for French Development (AFD) to expand and renovate the existing water and sewerage facilities in the selected cities.
Kampala Lord mayor Erias Lukwago has met the city leadership legislators and division mayors to discuss appropriate allocation of the 350 billion shillings that were subsequently recovered from the inflated costs of the $288 million a loan from the African development bank.
