On Friday, the United Nations' top court ordered Israel to take all necessary measures to prevent death, destruction, and acts of genocide in its military offensive in Gaza. The court, known as the International Court of Justice (ICJ), stopped short of ordering a ceasefire, despite South Africa's allegation that Israel's campaign in Gaza amounted to genocide. South Africa had asked the court to order Israel to halt the operation. In the anticipated decision, a panel of 17 judges at the ICJ ordered six provisional measures to protect Palestinians in Gaza. The measures were approved by an overwhelming majority of the judges, except Uganda's Judge Julia Sebuntinde, who voted against all of them. Judge Sebuntinde's decision has sparked a debate on Uganda's stance and her professional role in the matter. To address the controversies, we have invited Godber Tumushabe, a policy analyst; Yusuf Nsibambi, a lawyer and Member of Parliament for Mawokota County South; and George Musisi, a lawyer #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
