The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has expressed her condolences to the family and the nation upon the death of Doloko district Woman’s constituency Cecilia Ogwal.
The speaker of Parliament Anita Among and other legislators of the 11th Parliament have mourned and sympathised with the family of Dokolo woman mp, Cecilia Ogwal,who succumbed to cancer in India. The 77-year-old politician, businesswoman, management consultant, a certified accountant, was described by fellow members of Parliament as a mother, mentor, role model, a voice for the voiceless, a distinguished legislator, remarkable public figure, and so much more.
Uganda and Cuba have signed a memorandum of Understanding on trade cooperation. The MOU signed on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit by the Vice president Maj. Rtd. Jesicca Alupo and H.E Salvador Antonio the first Vice President of Cuba seeks to boost the two sisterly country’s political and economic cooperation. The Vice President Jesicca Alupo reaffirmed Government’s commitment to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in order to match the existing political cooperation.
David Jamwa, the former Managing Director of NSSF, has been released from jail after being pardoned by the head of state. Jamwa had been serving a 12-year sentence on charges of causing financial loss to NSSF.
