Civil Society Organizations have shared their perspectives on National budget framework paper, advising government to reduce her expenditure at all cost. Under their umbrella organisation, Civil Society Budgetary Advocacy Group – CSBAG, civil society organisations reason that with the public debt soaring amidst dwindling donor support, government’s expenditure should be cut to fall within the national revenue coffers. This call comes at a time when Uganda’s debt stands at about 96 trillion shillings, against shortfalls in revenue collection.
The government of Uganda has begun the construction of the river Nyamuhugura Bridge that connects the districts of Mubende and Kakumiro. The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja while addressing residents from the two districts at the construction site said that the bridge is being constructed with support from the community.
The first lady and minister for education and sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, has rallied Makerere university students on leadership, Integrity, risk reduction behavior, and HIV, among others, in a bid to nurture a dignified generation of youths in Uganda. This was in a weeklong retreat of student leaders in Jinja under the Emerging leaders program.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Amina Zawedde, says all is set for the broadcast of the upcoming NON-aligned movement and G77+China summits. Dr. Zawedde has assured the public, both in Uganda and beyond that Uganda Broadcasting corporation- UBC will feed all other Media Platforms, including social media, TV and Radio with all the proceedings of the global conferences. She made the remarks after a meeting with the Media and publicity subcommittee members at UBC board room in Kampala.

With about five months to the PARIS 2024 OLYMPICS, athletes and different Nations are gearing up for the momentous stage to showcase their talent and expertise. In that light, UBC spoke to the president of the Uganda Olympic committee, Don Rukare, to shade light on Uganda’s readiness and preparation.
The Special returnees Association-SRA, a collective of Ugandan individuals who embarked on a peacekeeping mission in the Middle East have echoed their dissatisfaction to the US Government and department of defence. Among the issues raised is underpayment, which rose as a result of signing new contracts following their deployment in the war-torn countries of Iraq and Afghanistan.
More than 5,000 residents and local leaders from over 10 villages in three sub-counties and town councils of Kagadi District and neighboring Districts are living in great fear and panic over continuous invasion and attacks by a troupe of chimpanzees. The animals have reportedly destroyed crops and killed Children. The Most affected sub-counties and town councils include, Muhorro town council, Kyanaisoke, Bwikara, Mpefu and Kyaterekera, all bordering Bugoma and Kangombe central forest reserve on the shores of Lake Albert in Kagadi, Kikuube and Kyenjojo Districts.
