Makerere University together with UNDP have commissioned the equipment for the innovation Hub at Makerere University. The hub is aimed at scaling startups and enhancing innovations. The hub will also bridge research to enterprise creations. Vice Chancellor prof Barnabus Nawange thanked the outgoing UNDP resident representative to Uganda H.E Elisie Attafuah for lighting the fire of innovation at Makerere University.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Animals Industry, and Fisheries are considering revamping all its research facilities across the country to ensure that farmers apply modern farming innovations to raise their output and income. According to Frank Tumwebaze, the agriculture minister, they have received funding partners to implement the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation in different regions of the country. On June 3rd, 2023, during the annual celebrations to honor the Uganda Martyrs, Nebbi Diocese was chosen to organize and animate the celebrations this year. The diocese, led by Bishop Raphael P'mony Wokorach, has come up with a 1.8 billion tis budget to cater for all activities. According to the organizing committee, about 500 pilgrims will trek from Nebbi to Namugongo Martyrs Shrine. A 4-month-old baby is admitted at Masindi Kitara Medical Center, Masindi District, after being attacked by a chimpanzee in Maramu village, Budongo Sub-county. The ape reportedly injured the boy's private parts. It's reported that the mother of the boy, who was on her way to fetch water from a spring, was carrying him on her back when the beast snatched him. A team of technical people from the Electoral Commission has been barred by MPs from defending the electoral body's budget framework for the 20242025 financial year. MPs on the Legal Committee of Parliament, led by Robinah Rwakoojo, the head of the committee, made the decision after realizing that the mandate of the existing EC leadership ended last week. Officials from the Electoral Commission secretariat have been bounced by the Parliamentary committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs after they had appeared to present their forthcoming budget framework paper. Electoral commission officials were summoned before the term of the commissioners expired on 7th January 2024. The team was not given room until the next commissioners are constituted.
The new passenger’s terminal building has officially commenced its operations to ease and control passenger traffic ahead of the non-allied movement summit and G77+china slated for 15th January 2024.
