The Office of the Auditor General has presented its report for the financial year ending on June 30, 2023, to the Speaker of Parliament. Ugandans have been urged to take an interest in how their personal data is protected from individuals and entities attempting to use it without their consent. According to Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, personal information collected from individuals should only be used for the purpose for which it has been obtained, with any misuse tantamount to a breach of the law. The Court of Appeal has dismissed with costs an appeal that former Entebbe Municipality Mayor Vincent Kayanja had filed to challenge the election of the current Entebbe mayor Fabrice Rulinda. The family of the late Brigadier General David Kaboyo has run to the Office of the RDC Kikuube district seeking intervention over alleged land grabbers in an estate in Kyangwali Sub-County. Security has been tightened at the Bwaise Taxi Park after two factions clashed over leadership. This follows the swearing in of the appointed interim chairman Rajab Mukasa which has prompted Francis Ssemakadde's faction to attack them accusing them of seizure of power.
Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s court has issued a warrant of arrest against Martha Nkwanzi Katanga daughter to the deceased Henry Katanga. Nkwanzi Katanga and Molly Katanga wife to Deceased Katanga are to face charges of murdering Henry Katanga.
Uganda Broadcasting Corporation has presented a Budget framework Paper to the Parliamentary Committee of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance. The Corporation’s Managing Director Winston David Agaba says UBC requires 65 billion Uganda shillings for both development and recurrent expenditure. The Committee Vice Chairperson Tony Ayoo pledged commitment towards UBC funding urging the Leadership of the National Broadcaster to ensure value for money.
CITY HALL COURT: SIX CHARGED AND REMANDED OVER AGGRAVATED ROBBERY AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT A FELONY.
Six people have been charged and remanded over aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. The six are accused of stealing a smart phone and items worth 1m from Said Simon Alibaba Orech.
