A renowned ICT training company, GSM-5G, has started the second phase 2024 training to empower youth with ICT skills. The Chief executive, Ali Razar, told UBC that he targets training 1000 youth in the first half of 2024. GSM 5G trains youth in Information Communication Technology, Hardware engineering, Software engineering, Laptop engineering and home manufacturing to enable them settle, earn income and counter external migration.
Princess Katrina Ssangalyambogo has commended the contribution of partners to the Ekisaakate kya Nnabagereka which intends to pursue humanity among young people. While receiving 40 million shillings from MTN Momo towards Ekisaakate, Ssangalyambogo expressed the need for reviving traditional values to have responsible citizens in future. The enclosure is being conducted at Homesdallen junior school in Gayaza.
It was not business as usual at Mpondwe border when traders who cross to the Democratic Republic of the Congo protested over ten thousand Visa fee before crossing. Hundreds of traders were seen outside the immigration offices at Mpondwe border protesting the fee.
Parliamentary speakers from the Commonwealth have concluded their meetings in Uganda with a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center in Entebbe, where they toured the area. The speakers, who have been meeting in Munyonyo, were welcomed by Tourism Minister Tom Butime. The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) states that it will take more than the estimated one week to complete the clearance of floating vegetation around Pakwach Bridge in West Nile. This marks the third week, with work still in progress and much of the floating vegetation remaining around the bridge. On December 19, 2023, floating vegetation became lodged around Pakwach Bridge, posing a potential threat of closure. However, Pakwach RDC Paul Eseru assures that everything possible is being done to ensure the work is completed. Pope Francis has recognized twelve Sisters in the northern region for maintaining their vows of celibacy and obedience to the Catholic Church. One German tourist lost his life in an accident today at Kabaraga hill corner in Kyanamira sub-county along the Kabale-Rukiga highway in Kabale district. Stephen Ralf, a German national, was returning from Bwindi gorilla valley when the tourist vehicle he was in collided with a speeding Mitsubishi FUSO truck. His wife, Silk Venus, and the driver, Morgan Nyombi, were initially taken to Kabale Referral hospital for treatment.
