Uganda Revenue authority in collaboration with China Chamber of Commerce and Chinese Embassy, have launched a taxation handbook in Chinese language. During the launch at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi, Kampala City, URA Commissioner general, John Musinguzi and the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda, Zhang Lizhong, both asserted that translating Uganda’s tax-related information and policies into Chinese will boost compliance among Chinese investors, thereby fostering a clearer understanding of the country’s tax regulations.
Government has been urged to construct rural feeder roads in Bamunanika constituency, Luweero district, as a way of helping local people acquire better standards and economic transformation. Robinah Nabbanja, has said that the public should not view the Parish development model- PDM as just one million shillings being distributed to individuals, but rather a holistic government programme aimed at improving household incomes. Nigeria says it will extend its suspension of degrees accreditation to more countries, including Kenya and Uganda. Farmers in Akubui village in Kumi district have resolved to fight environmental degradation by turning the groundnuts shellings in to briskets. This is intended to replace charcoal and firewood commonly used by the local people for cooking in this area. Three individuals have lost their lives, and four others sustained serious injuries when the Toyota Wish vehicle they were traveling in overturned on the Hoima-Masindi Road. The deceased were fans of Kitara Football Club returning from Masindi after watching their team play against Bright Stars FC. The four injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital. The Mbale regional fish fry center, inactive for over a year, requires 5 billion shillings to rehabilitate fish ponds and install new machines for producing fish seeds and fish feeds. National Information Technology Authority Uganda- NITA-U has successfully installed latest infrastructure to ease communication during the upcoming Non–Aligned Movement and G77 plus China Summits. The Executive Director, NITA – Uganda, Dr. Hatwib Mugasa, says the process to install Wi-Fi 6 has taken about a month, with capacity to last seven to ten years. He revealed this during the Ministerial tour by Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, of the level of Uganda’s preparedness for NAM Summit in terms of information and communications technology.
Parliament has pledged to increase funding and other support to Makerere University to propel the institution’s pursuit of becoming a fully research-based University. This pledge was made as the university hosted a delegation of the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth who paid a curtesy call on the university.

The Uganda People's Defence Forces - Air Force Unit - have facilitated the family of John Mukidi, in carrying out his burial in Nyamisingiri village in Ntoroko District. Mukidi, a father of 10, was killed after a military helicopter crashed into his home on Tuesday, also claiming two of its occupants. Following the crash, the army moved residents out of the area, to prevent them from getting hurt by the explosives dropped in this jurisdiction by the military helicopter.
