Uganda Police Force, together with other security and law enforcement agencies have assured Ugandans and other people living in the country of their security and their property as they prepare to welcome the New Year, 2024. Police has also set up committees to monitor churches and concert venues to ensure there are no clashes as it happened earlier this year at Freedom City. The cordial relationship between the people’s republic of China and Uganda government is increasingly improving the level of cooperation between the two sister states. This has been observed by the number of Chinese businessmen and investors opening up businesses in Uganda. Speaking at “The Belt and Road” Overseas Promotion of Liaoning Universities in Uganda, and Chinese Traditional Musical Instrument Performance, the Director, Luyanzi institute of Technology, Eng. Ayub Sooma, applauded the visiting five Chinese Universities for opening up opportunities to Ugandans to study in China.

The director, Nabuin Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute, Dr. Paul Okullo, wants government to come up with an affirmative action to enable the Karimojong venture into agriculture if they are to address food insecurity and malnutrition in the region. This was during a farmer field day where officials from the National Agricultural Research Organization reiterated the significance of the orange sweet potato in addressing vitamin A deficiency in children below five years.

The Police in Kampala have rushed in to reassure residents of the Kataba zone in Kabalagala parish, who are in panic after a suspected bomb was discovered in the area last night. Eyewitnesses say the suspected object was wrapped in a gift package, and given to one of the sexual workers in the area. Police and other security agencies cordoned off the scene for more investigations. This is the second time in 2 months that residents have awoken to fears of a bomb attack. The last incident was in the nearby Kikubamutwe zone, in Kabalagala parish in Kampala.
