The Leadership of Busoga Kingdom is encouraging its subjects to desist from the practice of land fragmentation in order to reap worthwhile proceeds from farming. The Kingdom’s Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries Sam Nkenga says land distribution among family members in small portions has kept Busoga clans in unending poverty. This was during a reunion of the Baisekisuyi clan at an event at the Kibaale Town Council in Namutumba District where UBC’s Director Finance Dr. Peter Kagwa who was elected Chairperson called for clan unity for development purposes.

Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has expressed concern at reports that the African Development Bank is considering halting funds, allocated to pay for the construction of roads in the city. The call, came ten days after a letter, addressed to the Secretary to the Treasury, Ramathan Ggoobi, indicated that the funds were to be halted over inconsistencies in governance. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has ordered the arrest of all traditional birth attendants found operating in Kagadi, emphasizing that their activities are illegal. This directive is in line with a 2010 government order prohibiting traditional birth attendants from assisting expectant mothers, aiming to enhance maternal and infant mortality rates. The newly appointed Acting Mufti, Sheikh Abdallah Semambo, has revealed plans to expand their mandate. Appointed by a section of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council general assembly, Sheikh Semambo is tasked with investigating the controversial sale of council properties in Kampala and Ssembabule districts. The secretary for Hijja at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Sheikh Ali Juma Shiwuyo, has appealed to Muslims sheikhs who use hate speech and sectarianism to isolate other Muslims to stop henceforth. Sheikh Shiwuyo also told Muslims to avoid engaging in matters they're not well informed about. Shiwuyo made the remarks during Juma prayers at Old Kampala National Mosque.

Uganda People's Defence Forces triple two mountain brigade, under mountain division, an ongoing operation, this Wednesday, successfully encountered the Musa Kamusi group near Kibale national park, after they attacked Nyabitusi village in Kamwenge district on Monday, killing a 75-year-old woman and her two grandchildren, before burning their bodies. Triple two mountain brigade Commander, Col. Saul Nabimanya, said that Kamusi group had escaped to Kibale national park after the UPDF captured their Commander, Njovu, in October, at the shores of Lake Edward. Authorities in Karamoja have welcomed an initiative by the Office of the Prime Minister to deliver the first tranche of iron sheets, blankets, and seedlings meant to support warriors who have handed over their guns to transition to civilian life. According to a spokesperson in the Office of the Prime Minister, Charles Odongtho, the package comprises vital resources for shelter, warmth, and agricultural support.
