Fundraising for St. Andrew Catholic church -Kanungu Community raises sh.58.8M out of the 300M needed
The community of Rweere in Kanungu district, along with well-wishers, has generously contributed fifty-eight million shillings towards the construction of St. Andrew Kaggwa Rweere Catholic Church. The completion of the church project requires a total of three hundred million shillings. This significant contribution was made during a fundraising and thanksgiving ceremony organized by the family of Deo Mwesigwa. The event was graced by the presence of the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, who attended as the chief guest.

Police have confirmed the killing of 2 suspected terrorists and the injury of one during a firefight at Kiziba Zone, Kiziba Parish, Kamwenge district. This occurred a few days after suspected ADF rebels launched an attack in Kamwenge, where they killed and burned three people

The police force has issued guidelines that are expected to be followed by members of the public at various venues cleared to display fireworks during the ushering in of the new year on the night of December 31. Police say eight licensed companies have been contracted to supply fireworks. The companies have been asked to ensure that they have at least 10 fire extinguishers at every location. They are also not expected to allow spectators in display areas, to prohibit smoking, lighting fires, among other guidelines. A total of 1,907 venues have been designated to have fireworks displays around the country.
