The Ministry of Agriculture has officially designated January 5, 2024, as the nationwide harvest date for vanilla. State Minister for Agriculture, Fred Bwino Kyakulaga, announced that the harvest season will extend for three months, concluding on April 5, 2024. Five detainees narrowly escaped death this morning as fire engulfed Mutungo Police Station in Nakawa Division, where they were being held. The fire is believed to have started in the office of the Officer in Charge before spreading to other parts of the building.
