The office of the Prime Minister through the Prime Minister’s delivery Unit (PMDU) in collaboration with the National Curriculum development center (NCDC) have begun the process of engaging York Express an organisation based in London and offers expert consultancy designed to shape educational initiatives for public to further develop a skills based learning system in Uganda. The consultation meeting took place at Latitude 0 Hotel in Makindye in Kampala. The head of Prime Minister’s delivery Unit PMDU at the office of the Prime minister Robert Kasule Ssebunya says they have embarked on the process of conducting consultations that are meant to help the country in curriculum design and modernization to match the ever changing needs in the world. Ssebunya says that the country is currently engaging with York Express to come up with ways of expediting the process of overhauling the education system in Uganda to meet the needs of the current generation.

Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso has  withdrawn from Netball Uganda Presidential Race, citing concerns over transparency and governance. This decision, she said, was difficult but necessary due to concerns over what she called bias, procedural impropriety, and glaring irregularities  in the election process. Byekwaso outlined five key reasons behind her decision. highlighting  management and accountability issues  that date back to April 2023, when the Ministry of Education instructed the National Council of Sports  to withdraw the federation Certificate of Recognition of its leadership did not adhere to restructuring guidelines. Consequently, the NCS revoked the certificate, though it did not formally dissolve the federation

Ugandan pair of Charles Kagimu and Paul Lomuria celebrated the country’s Independence Day on the podium high following their victory in the Elite and under 23 categories respectively on day one of the Confederation of Africa Cycling, Africa Road Cycling Championships in Eldoret, Kenya. The Uganda national flag was raised back to back in both the elite men and the under-23 men at the time trial event, the last shows of day one of the championships. Fresh from participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Kagimu won the elite men's title after subbing off 33.8km in the last race of the day before his counterpart Lomuria returned ahead of teammate Lawrence Lorot in a 1-2 podium finish in the men’s under 23 individual time trial category. And now to netball, with barely two weeks to the netball federation elections, former vice federation vice president Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso announced her withdrawal from the race for President citing concerns over transparency and governance by the Normalization Committee. Byekwaso has criticized the committee led by Moses Mwase for overstepping its mandate. Train passenger services by the Uganda Railway Corporation have been extended to Mukono Municipality. For a long period, the service has been available between Kampala and Namanve. The service is expected to decongest the busy Kampala - Jinja road if travelers who have been plying the route using commuter taxis, personal cars, and boda boda bikes, start using the passenger train. Uganda Railway Corporation officials say that in the next three years, they are to transform the rail sector to cover more areas in the country.
