As the month of March counts in, Various financial institutions in Uganda are commemorating campaigns to uphold the participation of women in the financial sector of Uganda highlighting financial inclusion & education, wealth management and equity. DFCU bank and Equity bank were at the helm of these campaigns commemorating the women month.

Certified accountants have been warned against involvement in corrupt tendencies but instead fight it among the public. The president of the certified public accountants, CPA Josephine Okui, noted that the institution is meant to train professionals for better management of public funds, but instead, some get trapped into corruption. She made the remarks during a graduation ceremony of over 250 certified public accountants in Kampala.

The International Labour Organization has called upon countries in East Africa and those in the horn of Africa to establish a database for migrant workers in enhancement of tracking purposes. In the high-level engagement of representatives from member states in Kampala, it was established that limited information about migrant workers is facilitating irregular labour mobility.

Lawyers in Uganda have been urged to desist from high legal adoption fees charged to foster parents that want to adopt children. This call was made by Justice John Keitirima, the head of the Family Division of the High Court of Uganda at the adoption awareness conference.

Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Dr. Mary Gorreti Kitutu, has called upon donors to sponsor people in Karamoja to go to areas which have fought climate change through nature-based solutions. Kitutu was officiating at the launch of a five-year, twenty billion Shillings project of building Resilience in Conflict-affected and fragile communities of Karamoja- BRICK, in Rupa sub county, Moroto District. The project is funded by the UNDP and KOICA.

As Irish government has backed a Dublin based investor in developing Kerry food beverages over £5m. The firm will add value to locally produced foods and beverages with the role of ensuring a strong bond between two countries.
