Buganda Kingdom minister for Tourism and Culture, Anthony Wamala has emphasized the need to invest in the tourism sector in the country for national development. During the launch of the 2024 edition of miss Tourism Buganda Kingdom at Bulange, Mengo in Kampala, Mr. Wamala said the institution aims at injecting money into the tourism sector, thereby calling upon different stakeholders to collaborate with the kingdom administration to foster development.

Conservationist, tourism sector players are concerned over the decreasing numbers of wildlife attributed to human and wildlife conflicts. This has prompted different sector players to launch campaigns of visiting schools and sensitize students on wildlife conservation by using the new advanced technology.

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubaje has launched a fundraising drive to raise 2.2billion shillings meant to construct a mega Irshad mosque with commercial component in Arua city center. Out of the 2.2billion, 700 million shillings is meant to construct the mosque as 1.5billion will be to construct commercial space.

The deputy speaker of parliament, Thomas Tayebwa has today joined Christians in Mukono to fundraise for the construction of the new cathedral there, expected to cost at least 6 billion shillings. Leading the service, the archbishop of the church of Uganda Dr Grace Kaziimba Mugalu challenged Christians to contribute greatly towards the church’s human resource. The deputy speaker, who carried 20 million shillings from the president, thanked the Anglican Church for their contribution to the education sector, which has been critical to the country's development. The Omuhikirwa of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Andrew Byakutaga has urged the government to spare Uganda Coffee Development Authority in the planned merger of state agencies. The authority is set to be returned to the mother Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries after the merger is completed. However, Byakutaga says the UCDA should be left to operate independently as a way of effectively promoting the coffee sector.
