The ministry of energy and mineral development through Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited has commissioned the 132KV Gulu-Agago transmission project to provide reliable power in the West Nile and Northern Uganda for socio-economic transformation. While commissioning this project, state minister for energy Sidronius Okaasai Opolot disclosed approved amendments in power purchase agreements.

Residents of Nyarubaare Parish in Ntungamo district are constructing a police post on a contested piece of land in a bid to save it. The contested land has a community playground that was established in 1948 but has been claimed by members of a nearby family since 2019.
