Prime Minister Anthony Albanese discusses the success of urgent care clinics in Tasmania. "We have, for example, our four urgent care clinics that have opened here in Tasmania and we have a fifth coming and there is potential of more there," Mr Albanese said. "They have seen tens of thousands of Tasmanians. "All Tasmanians have needed is their Medicare card, not their credit card. "I have been to an urgent care clinic there in Hobart that has been an enormous success."

Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Birmingham has reacted to reports the Albanese government may be looking at making changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax policy, accusing them of “saying one thing” but “looking at doing another”. The federal government could be exploring its options ahead of possible changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax. An anonymous government source says Labor has sought advice from Treasury on the possible changes which it could take to the next election. “Here we go again would be the simple response,” Mr Birmingham told Sky News Australia. “The Albanese Labor government saying one thing on tax policy but looking at doing another.”

At least 11 people have been injured when two tanks collided in a military training exercise in Central Queensland. The drills involved soldiers from Australia and Singapore. The troops were headed back to Shoalwater Bay Training Area when their Armoured Fighting Vehicle rear-ended another just after 7:30 on Tuesday. The injured servicemen were airlifted to Rockhampton Airport before being transferred to the town's Hospital. The ADF has confirmed that no Australian personnel were injured.

The Israeli military has confirmed they killed a Hezbollah commander in the latest targeted strike in the south of Beirut. “The first thing though should always be to think of Australians,” Mr Birmingham told Sky News Australia. “And the message has been clear for some time: Australians should not be in Lebanon, they should not have travelled there, they should have left there and heeded the warnings.”

Israel’s Defence and Security Forum founder Brigadier General Amir Avivi says Israel has been trying to target Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi “for a very long time”. The Israeli military has confirmed they killed a Hezbollah commander in the latest targeted strike in the south of Beirut. “He planned in 2000 the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers,” Mr Avivi told Sky News Australia. “Israel has been trying to target him for a very, very long time.”

The largest hospital in the north of Israel, Rambam, has a fortified section situated three stories below ground to protect from missile attack. President Biden joked that the helicopter flying “isn’t armed”. “Talk about weakness, what about the bloke who’s still in the White House, still the leader of the free world,” Mr Kenny said. “Joe Biden this week, a couple of stuff ups, but let’s pick one of them – here he is where he spots a helicopter while he’s hosting the Quad leaders. “Apart from being bizarre and seemingly befuddled, it’s relatively in poor taste ... to tell everyone to relax; it’s not armed.”
