Australia has slightly reduced its debt by $17 billion four months after the budget. It will ultimately save Australians $80 billion in interest payments over the next 10 years. “We’ve now got stagnant economic growth,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia. “We’ve still got persistently high homegrown sticky inflation, and we’ve got productivity that is going backwards.”

Like you and me and that she's actually this really kind of gung-ho, middle-of-the-road, middle America, cowboy hat-wearing, horse riding, gun-toting."

Writer and Broadcaster Esther Krakue has claimed the Democratic Party is deliberately deciding to “distance” itself from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of the US presidential election. “I think there's been a deliberate distancing, not only than by the Sussexes but also by the Democratic Party, because actually if the Sussexes did endorse Kamala Harris, it would probably be the best endorsement that Trump could ever hope for,” she told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. “We know that the couple's popularity has somewhat plummeted in the US for quite a while now. Their endeavours in the entertainment industry haven't panned out as well as they would have hoped. Things have not really gone their way."

Journalist and Commentator Brad Polumbo has reacted to retired US Army brigadier general Steven Anderson's bizarre claims during an interview on MSNBC. During the interview, Mr Anderson suggested the President of Russia Vladimir Putin would be intimidated by Kamala Harris because she's black. "I'm almost lost for words. The stupidity of the suggestion that Vladimir Putin is going to be wowed by the boxes Kamala Harris checks off on the census," Mr Polumbo said. "News flash MSNBC, he doesn't care. He's going to look at her and see weakness. He's gonna see her incoherent word salad and frankly, he's been undeterred by the Biden-Harris administration these last few years."

News Corp Columnist Angela Mollard has claimed it is not likely that Prince Harry will meet with King Charles or Prince William as he prepares to head to London at the end of the month. The Duke of Sussex confirmed he will be returning to the UK for the annual WellChild Awards on September 30, where he will meet winners of the Award for Inspirational Child. “Look, I don't think he'll be seeing this family,” Ms Mollard told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. “It's his fourth trip to the UK this year. The King will be in Scotland, so there's very little chance of them seeing each other. “Of course, they've been together in London at the same time, and they couldn't even get together. So I don't think they'll be seeing each other and William has made it very clear behind the scenes, you know, he's very focused on his family so I don't think Harry will be seeing his brother.”

King Charles' birthday message to Prince Harry last week has raised some eyebrows online. It comes as the picture used in the birthday message appears to have been taken back in 2018 while Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle visited the Dogpatch startup hub in Dublin, Ireland. However, the absence of Meghan Markle in the photo quickly drew attention, with some questioning if her exclusion was deliberate. News.com.au Entertainment Reporter Bronte Coy joined Sky News host Caroline Di Russo to discuss the recent controversy on whether the Royal Family deliberately cropped Meghan Markel out of the photo. “I mean there were fairly generic messages but it was the first time they had wished him a happy birthday in years,” Ms Coy said. “So it was a tiny, a tiny shoot of hope. However, as is often the case with these things, it was quickly followed by a bit of controversy because the photo that they used for Harry, people pointed out that the original may have been one that had Meghan in it because it was taken in Dublin in 2018 when they were on a working royal tour.”

KPMG CEO Andrew Yates has revealed some of the big economic pressures that chief executives are currently feeling at the moment. Mr Yates joined Sky News Business Reporter Ed Boyd to discuss KPMG's annual CEO survey that revealed one in two CEOs are expecting weak growth, many are investing in Generative AI, most believe office workers will be back full-time within three years, and ESG expectations are a major focus. “I think it really is around where growth is going to come from and how we are going to achieve productivity gains,” Mr Yates said. “The survey caught out to us, interestingly though, that 86 per cent of Australian CEOs have a high degree of confidence about growth prospects for their company over the next three years. “So I thought that was pretty interesting in a pretty low economic environment where at the moment there still is a degree of confidence about the way forward, albeit the growth rates people are thinking about are probably pretty low, around 2 .5 per cent. “But it really is about how do we try and achieve productivity gains and come out of this low growth environment.”
