Pop star Justin Timberlake has been arrested and charged early on Tuesday for drink-driving in a village in New York’s Hamptons. Police said Timberlake, 43, was driving a grey 2025 BMW in Sag Harbor around 12:30 AM, when he ran a stop sign and veered out of his lane twice. Court documents stated he had “bloodshot and glassy” eyes, smelled of alcohol, had slowed speech, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Timberlake claimed to have had one martini and was following friends home. After being arrested and taken to East Hampton police station, he refused a breath test and was later released without bond. His next court date is scheduled for July 26.

US President Joe Biden has been criticised online following his Tuesday speech at the White House. During his speech, President Biden added to his catalogue of gaffes and was roasted for it on X. “Biden's brain is malfunctioning in real-time — yikes!” wrote RNC Research. The oldest-ever sitting president announced a mass amnesty plan to give 500,000 illegal immigrants American citizenship. The policy was rolled out on Tuesday and announced the amnesty will apply to people who have lived in the US for at least 10 years. According to the Associated Press, the President's decision comes following criticism from Democrats over Biden’s southern border crackdown.

Nationals leader David Littleproud says the Coalition will “return ownership” of some of Australia’s power generation to the Australian people. Opposition leader Peter Dutton announced the Coalition’s nuclear plan at a media event on Wednesday. “Today was the first step in giving respect to those certain communities that, after … the initial assessment, that they are the best ones on which to proceed with,” Mr Littleproud told Sky News Australia. “It was also about making sure that Australians understood that, under Peter Dutton and David Littleproud, we’re going to return ownership of some of our generation of power to the Australian people, not to multinationals from overseas that come along, take it, and run off and to leave a legacy. “That’s the legacy that Peter Dutton and David Littleproud want to leave.”

US President Joe Biden has announced a program which will allow the undocumented spouses of American citizens to apply for citizenship. Under the current process, immigrants must leave the country while applying for citizenship - leaving them without assurance they will be allowed back. The changes will allow undocumented spouses to stay with their families in America while their visas are being processed. The White House believes approximately half a million people will benefit from the plan.
