Comedian Alex Stein says the US government is more interested in helping out immigrants than its own American citizens. “These immigrants that are seeking asylum – they know how to play the system better than most Americans do,” Mr Stein told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “That’s why they’re able to get social services and help from the government and free flights and free hotel rooms in New York City when a lot of Americans are struggling just to afford groceries or fill up their gas tank. “It’s really, really sad because we have enough resources to help Americans, but our government would rather help out the citizens of foreign countries that don’t really care about America when they come here.”

Sky News host Chris Kenny has slammed Labor’s “same old alarmism and rhetoric” over climate change and explained in three clear points why it is “nonsense”.  Mr Kenny also called out Labor and Greens’ “big lie” in their approach to renewables.   “They are pretending that an unreliable renewables model with storage can power this nation,” he said.  “Labor’s unreliable renewables plan simply cannot work under current technology, that’s what the best experts tell us.  “This is one of the most crucial policy battles for our country, a contest of ideas that really counts. Thank Gaia that Dutton is up for it.”

Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Ted O’Brien says the Coalition does support the Paris Agreement and is “fully committed” to net zero by 2050. Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero. It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable. “We do support the Paris Agreement,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News Australia. “We’re fully committed, including to the target of net zero by 2050. “We believe we’ll be able to present a very compelling proposition to the Australian people about how we reach that net zero target. “Unlike Labor, we won’t be plucking things out of the air. “We’ve been doing a lot of work, and we look forward to releasing our cheaper, cleaner and consistent 24/7 electricity plan in due course.”

Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Ted O’Brien says the Albanese government “hadn’t done any modelling” when they set their target of a 43 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030. Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero. It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable. “One of the criticisms we’ve had about Labor’s setting their target at 43 per cent is they hadn’t done any modelling,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News Australia. “Instinctively, my view is that unless you’ve done that degree of work, then you can’t just make these things up – this has a direct impact on Australians way of life, on their jobs.”

The Switzer Report Founder Peter Switzer told Sky News Australia to look out for the “CPI” and the “jobs report”. The US economy has added more jobs than expected in May, reducing the Federal Reserve’s likelihood of cutting interest rates. “We want to see unemployment rise if you want to think the Reserve Bank will back off from even talking about an interest rate rise. “They're the two big stories of the week that have big impacts on the central banks both in the US and here and ultimately have a big impact on stock prices in both countries.”

It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable. “By the way, Labor hasn’t reduced emissions,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News Australia. “So, for all their talk, emissions today are no lower than they were when the Coalition left office.”

Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Ted O’Brien has criticised Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for failing to mention the United States and European Union likely “won’t achieve” their 2030 targets. Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero. It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable. “I did see the prime minister this morning try to suggest that Australia’s going to be kicked out of the Paris Agreement if it doesn’t meet its 2030 targets,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News Australia. “What he failed to say was the United States is also looking like they won’t achieve their 2030 targets, nor will the European Union. “I think it’s going to be big news in Washington that the Australian Prime Minister is announcing that suddenly the Biden administration is looking down the barrel of being booted from Paris.”
