Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could face another blow amid growing speculation the couple could lose their multimillion-dollar Netflix contract. News Corp columnist Louise Roberts joined Sky News host Caroline Di Russo to discuss reports that the streaming giant is losing interest in the pair. “I think their Netflix deal would be axed if they don’t come up with the royal tidbits, the royal inside information,” Ms Roberts said. “That's why Netflix signed them up to the deal in 2020 when they left the Royal Family, and of course, that deal was a five-year deal for $100 million, and that expires next year. “So, unless there’s suddenly some miracle and they're back in the fold of the Royal Family, I can’t see the deal continuing.”

Royal expert and journalist Pandora Forsyth has revealed that King Charles appointing David Beckham as an ambassador for his charity was an “extreme moment of pride” for the former England captain. The former football star was announced as the King’s Foundation's new ambassador on Saturday. Beckham shared the news on Instagram, with several photos of him and the King during a recent visit to Highgrove Gardens.

Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke says wages are “deliberately growing” in Australia and the Fair Work Commission’s decision is a “really good one” for 2.6 million Australians. The Fair Work Commission has lifted the minimum wage by 3.75 per cent. Fair Work Commission President Adam Hatcher announced the decision on Monday morning. The change will be effective from July 1. “What’s happening now is wages are deliberately growing,” Mr Burke told Sky News Australia. “I know this is not the decision that Jane Hume wanted. Jane Hume was calling for a real wage cut. “This says to people the system is continuing to try to make sure that your wages stay in front with what is happening with prices. “For 2.6 million Australians, this decision is a really good one and a good day for them.”

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume says a minimum wage rise may worsen inflation. The Fair Work Commission is expected to lift the minimum wage on Monday as it meets for a review. “The decision of the Fair Work Commission is an independent one, and I am sure the Fair Work Commission will take into account all the economic factors that are surrounding the economy right now," Ms Hume said. “If the Fair Work decision comes down at a rate that is higher than inflation, inevitably and logically, it would push inflation up even further. "That would be the worst thing for Australians because ... well we all want more purchasing power. “We all want more money in our pockets. If it's going to push up inflation. That will simply erode purchasing power.”

Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite has rebuked a report from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute which says Australia’s military capability won't improve for at least a decade. Labor’s defence plans won’t improve Australia’s military capability for at least a decade, according to a report. The Australian Strategic Policy Institute says the country would only have access to its current force if a war were to break out in the next 10 years. “It’s simply not true this claim,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia. “If you look at the recent announcement of our national defence strategy, what we’re doing is, over the course of the next four years, we’re investing an additional $5.7 billion. “These claims are simply not true – we’ve got a lot of capability that comes online in the next four years because the government’s making those investments.”

Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says the Albanese government wants to keep Australians’ wages “moving forward”. A rise in the national minimum wage could hurt the chance of the RBA cutting interest rates. The Fair Work Commission will meet today for its review. An estimated 2.6 million workers around the country would be affected by the change. “Our submission says that we want Australian workers’ wages to keep moving forward,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia. “For the first time in the last couple of decades, we’ve got real wages increasing in Australia, which means Australians’ incomes are increasing at a greater rate than cost of living.”

Sky News host Paul Murray says the left in the United States “got their man” in former president Donald Trump’s felony convictions. “Finally, they had got their man, he is now a convicted felon and a big asterisk, they say, exists over the 2016 election,” Mr Murray said. “All of these people … would have plenty to say about a justice system if it was deep dark Alabama, but because this is bright and beautiful New York City, justice has been done.”

Writer and Broadcaster Esther Krakue says The Heritage Foundation is calling for Prince Harry’s visa records to be revealed to the public concerning his revelations of drug use in his book ‘Spare’. “So, we know the Heritage Foundation has put in a request to have the documents regarding his visa … revealed to the public,” she said. “Because he revealed in his book ‘Spare’ he had taken drugs, he had taken cocaine and magic mushrooms.”

Sky News host Caroline Di Russo says the Sussexes “half-baked” projects do not come off as “awesome” but confusing and contrived. “The Sussexes continue their floundering ways, it is as though everything they attempt comes off half-cocked and half-baked before they move on to the next project,” she said. “Their brand is half high-flyer and half home maker … half royal and half private citizen and it does not come off as awesome multitasking, it comes off as confused and contrived.”

Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor says inflation is “accelerating” in Australia. Mr Taylor told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood that the economy is in a “disastrous situation”. “We got a budget that’s made it harder for the Reserve Bank.”

One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby has poked fun at the idea of Donald Trump going to jail, suggesting the former US president could have some famous guests visit him behind bars. “I love the idea of the Secret Service having to go into prison with him,” Mr Ashby told Sky News host Paul Murray. “I’d love to see the guest list of who goes and visits him. “Remember how Johnny Cash used to go into the prison system and play to the prisoners … could you imagine which artists would come and play for Trump.”

Sky News host Paul Murray says a “pro-Labor” union poll reflects a party vote climb in headlines resulting from the $1,000 energy rebate payment in Queensland. “The unions are doing their bit to try to change the narrative that they have already bottomed out,” Mr Murray said. “It got headlines … the Labor Party’s vote is coming up as a result of the $1,000 payment but this is a poll which is paid for by a union that is pro-Labor.”

Almost a dozen large Australian companies and government departments in 2024 have been the subject of significant sexual harassment complaints. However, many companies are ignorant of a change in law from earlier this year which puts a positive duty on companies – big and small – to prevent workplace sexual discrimination and sexual harassment.
