Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue has claimed Prince Harry's announcement that he is visiting the UK is “quite strategic”. The Duke of Sussex is set to return to the UK to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his signature Invictus Games foundation, however, Meghan is not expected to join him. "Harry’s been quite strategic in announcing his visit to the UK," Ms Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. "I think that's something as well to buttress his case for heightened security. "But, again, I personally suspect the case for the court of appeal will be unsuccessful, I don't think just making the argument to the court 'oh look poor me I couldn't bring my family over' is enough to overturn the national security arrangements."

This comes amid discussions about the truce talks taking place in Egypt regarding the conflict in Gaza. “He’s under pressure first of all from the right-wing members of his own cabinet,” Mr Hamilton told Sky News Australia. “This cabinet of Netanyahu’s is said to be the most hardline in Israeli history. “They refuse to make any concessions to Hamas. “At the same time, he’s under enormous pressure from the families and supporters of the hostages. “The third pressure if from the United States, because all of this happening in Gaza is a big distraction from Biden’s re-election campaign.”

ANU Middle East expert Ian Parmeter says there are “encouraging” signs in the truce talks regarding the situation in Gaza. Hamas delegates are in Cairo discussing a potential truce amid the ongoing conflict. Mr Hamilton told Sky News Australia that Israel have offered “a 40-day ceasefire in exchange for something like 33 hostages to be released”. “If that’s the case, it would be a much longer ceasefire than we’ve seen in the past. “It would provide an almost relief for the civilians in Gaza and of course enable food and much needed medical aid. “We’ll just simply have to wait to see if the negotiations will work. “The big sticking point is how long the ceasefire is for.”

Ms Krakue said the Tories “lost spectacularly” losing “hundreds of seats”. “In many areas, many sorts of Tory strongholds, the Labour Party actually gained a lot of those councillor seats. “They actually lost a lot of Muslim majority or areas with significant Muslim communities and that was mainly over the vote for Gaza. “It’s actually showing in many parts of the country the split isn’t based on actual policy or how politicians' actions are affecting their lives, they're more symbolic votes.”
