President of the Centre of the American Experiment John Hinderaker says "nobody" knows how many people have entered the United States illegally since Joe Biden opened the border “on purpose.” Mr Hinderaker’s comments come just days after police arrested a Venezuelan man who entered the US illegally for the murder of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley. “Nobody knows how many people have crossed the Southern border since Joe Biden opened it on purpose,” Mr Hinderaker told Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi. “Estimates run between seven million and ten million. “Enormous numbers of illegals flooding into the United States.”

Writer and Broadcaster Esther Krakue says King Charles' possible visit to Australia later in the year is “a bit touch and go” at the moment following his cancer diagnosis. An official visit to Australia from the monarch would be the first time King Charles has visited the country since taking on the throne in May last year, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. “Obviously he wanted to come in October to inside with the Commonwealth Heads of Government summit, which will be a week-long summit in Samoa,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “And he was planning his first state visit as the King to Australia then,” she said. Despite doubts over the monarch's plans to visit following his cancer diagnosis, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed he will engage with state governments to consider a royal tour for the King and wife Queen Camilla, which was originally tipped to occur in October.

The Australian’s National Editor Dennis Shanahan says Opposition Leader Peter Dutton can “take comfort” from the voter swing to the Liberal Party in the Dunkley by-election. “I think the result – that’s actually a reasonable result for both sides,” he said. “Peter Dutton can take comfort from this. “Despite the swing to the Liberals, there was never a real chance that they would win the seat.” Mr Shanahan sat down with Ms Credlin to discuss the Dunkley by-election.

Sky News host Chris Kenny has reiterated his call for the Australian politician who “sold out” their country to be named. “We're told a politician sold out their country while in office, but the people they represented are not entitled to know about it,” Mr Kenny said. “The country who recruited this politician, and we all know it's China, will be very happy that we're too timid to name either the person or the country. “The federal government should ensure this person is named. “We don't know which party they represent or represented, but I note that the Coalition is calling for full transparency, while Labor seems happy for the rest of us to be left in the dark.”

Liberal member for the Victorian seat of Menzies Keith Wolahan has praised Liberal MP Zoe McKenzie for being a “decent person” in light of a controversial social media post celebrating Labor MP Jodie Belyea’s Dunkley victory. Ms McKenzie took to social media late Saturday night to congratulated the new Labor member for Dunkley Jodie Belyea, but criticised by the more hardened of Liberal supporters. “Zoe McKenzie is a formidable advocate, and a decent person and she did the right thing by fighting the good fight which she did for Nathan Conroy, and then acknowledging the winner,” Mr Wolahan said. “That’s what we do in a democracy. “To do otherwise is to disrespect the voters, and our democracy. “I think we need more of the kindness, and the good grace that was shown by her.”

Sky News host Caroline Di Russo says it would be “wonderful” for Australia if King Charles visited the country. There are talks of King Charles potentially visiting Australia later this year. The federal government is deciding where the King will visit in Australia. Ms Di Russo told Sky News host Chris Kenny that the King should “go to all the states”. “All of us here, we all love this great country.

The ASX 200 ended the day down on Monday 0.13 per cent. Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd says the stock market was a “bit unexpected”. “Market was up in early trade, then it dropped after the stats were released at 11:30,” Mr Boyd said. ”Japanese Nikkei today broke through 40,000 points for the first time. “Investors clearly still see a lot of upside to Japanese stocks.”

Thousands of Israelis have concluded a four-day march to Jerusalem demanding the release of hostages held in Gaza. Marchers carried Israeli flags and hostage posters, starting the four-day march from a site hit in the October 7 attack by Hamas. Negotiators were set to resume ceasefire talks in Cairo on March 3. Their journey culminated in a rally at the Israeli Prime Minister's residence, with calls for their release. US President Joe Biden expressed hope for a ceasefire by the start of Ramadan on March 10. Currently, 134 hostages are still held in Gaza, including soldiers, civilians, and children, according to Israel. A peace deal could result in the release of dozens of hostages.

Shadow Communications Minister David Coleman says the issue between Meta and Australian news content being paid for has been occurring “for a long time”. Mr Coleman joined Sky News Australia to discuss Meta’s recent decision to stop paying for Australian news content. “To his credit, Josh Frydenberg had the guts and the strength – backed by Scott Morrison and our whole team to make Meta pay,” he said. “Expressions of disappointment, little statements of anger – Meta will say ‘so what?’ “The only scenario to be frank here when Meta will pay for Australian journalism is where the government forces them to.”

Republican Presidential Candidate Nikki Haley has won her first primary of the 2024 Election in Washington DC. Ms Haley scored 63 per cent of the Republican vote. This is compared to just 33 per cent to her opponent Donald Trump. As the last remaining major primary challenger to Mr Trump, this is Nikki Haley’s biggest and only win of the 2024 election cycle thus far. Nikki Haley’s future path to the Republican nomination remains unlikely with Donald Trump’s strong victories in every other primary.

Shadow Communications Minister David Coleman says Meta ending its Australian news content deal would be a “hammer blow” to journalism in the nation. Mr Coleman joined Sky News Australia to discuss Meta’s recent decision to stop paying for Australian news content. “The government can huff and puff all it likes,” he said. “But the question is – will the government make Meta pay? “We did that when in government, and all this boils down to is will the government require Meta to pay because if they don’t – if Meta doesn’t pay, that is a hammer blow for Australian journalism.”

Liberal MP Aaron Violi says the Coalition should “be encouraged” by the result in Dunkley as there’s “more work to do”. Mr Violi’s comments come as Labor candidate Jodie Belyea won the Dunkley by-election against Liberal candidate Nathan Conroy. “We should definitely be encouraged by this result – there’s a lot of work still to do,” Mr Violi told Sky News Australia. “There’s more work to do and we know that, and we’ve acknowledged that. “We’ve now turned a safe Labor seat into a marginal seat.”

Curtin University’s Dean of Global Futures Joe Siracusa says he does not think Kamala Harris could find the US border “on a map”. The Vice President continues to face heat for her handling of the US migrant crisis, despite being labelled the ‘border czar’. “I’m sure she has many good qualities – we just haven’t seen any of them in three years,” Mr Siracusa told Sky News Australia. “She just looks hopeless. “That’s why governor Haley looks so good is because Kamala Harris looks so bad.”

Malaysia Transport Minister Anthony Loke says the government is “committed” to searching for the missing flight MH370. The transport minister confirmed the government is in talks with US-based marine robotics company Ocean Infinity in signing a new contract to search for the plane. “We are committed to that search and the search must go on,” Mr Loke said during a press conference. This Friday will mark the 10th anniversary of the plane’s disappearance. The flight – carrying 227 passengers, including six Australians and 12 crew – vanished en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Despite the largest search in aviation history, the Boeing 777 plane has never been found.

Senator Jacqui Lambie says the Opposition is “miles behind” when it comes to nuclear energy. “It’s a real shame that we’re not world leaders in this considering we have about 27 or 28 per cent of the world’s uranium in South Australia itself,” Ms Lambie told Sky News Australia. “We’re just so far behind.” Ms Lambie’s remarks come as Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is expected to outline the Coalition’s nuclear energy policy before the May budget. “I wouldn’t spend too much time on nuclear if I was him because, once again, what’s hitting the people out there is the cost of living, and you’re not going to have nuclear electricity overnight,” she said.

A recent poll by CBS News found Donald Trump is better equipped to handle the ongoing border crisis than US President Joe Biden. According to the poll, 72 per cent of registered voters believe Trump’s policies would decrease illegal migrant crossings, while 50 per cent of voters believe migrant crossings would increase under Biden. Biden also scored only 22 per cent among voters who believe he can solve the growing border crisis, 50 per cent less than Trump. According to US Customs and Border Protection sources, there were over 14,000 illegal migrants encountered by border security on Friday and Saturday. In Tucson, Arizona, which saw the highest level of encounters, there were over 2,000 arrests, according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin.

Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney says some major donations and major foundations have "pulled out of supporting" Nikki Haley in the last couple of days. Mr Mulvaney said she’s been “raising a good bit of money”. “Not as much as she used to,” he told Sky News Australia. “She’s had some major donations back out; she’s had some major foundations back out. “Folks that were helping her with volunteers, grassroots activities – stuff that’s very important to candidates.”

Medics at two clinics in the southern Gaza city of Rafah say diseases are spreading throughout refugee camps, particularly among children. The situation has worsened to the point the United States has begun airdropping humanitarian aid into the territory. “The situation in the camp is nearly catastrophic,” Palestinian doctor Rajaa Okasah said. “Food is not clean, people drink salty water because there is no fresh water, viruses and bacteria are alarming widespread among the children because of their weak immunity. “The situation is so bad here in this camp.”
