Tasmania's world-famous Dark Mofo festival will return in 2025 following a one-year hiatus. The announcement is being celebrated by the tourism sector – as the event is a key contributor to the state's winter economy. Student debt repayments could be slashed by thousands of dollars under a new plan from the Albanese government. From July 1 next year, repayments will only have to be made when a person earns $67,000 a year, instead of the current minimum repayment threshold of about $54,000.
