Liberal MP Andrew Wallace discusses the revelation electric vehicle sales will be propped up with a tax discount, which treasury officials forecast will cost four times more than previously expected, totalling $1.2 billion. “I don’t care what sort of car you want to drive or what anybody else wants to drive,” Mr Wallace told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio. “What I do object to is those other people who don’t have electric vehicles they are now subsidising those that do to the tune of $1.2 billion. “That’s four times what treasury originally estimated. “It’s utterly objectionable; if you want to drive an electric car, knock your socks off, but don’t expect me to pay for it.”

Sky News host Danica De Giorgio discusses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz's pre-recorded interview conducted on CNN. "The bizarre thing is Kamala Harris could not do the interview alone, she had to do it with Tim Walz," Ms De Giorgio said. "Yet Kamala looks small and awkward in the middle. "It suggests that this woman, who wants to be the president of the United States, is unable to do solo interviews, unable to stand up for herself, and has generally no idea what to do, when not staring at an autocue. "The real test, though, will come on September 10 when she faces off with Donald Trump in a presidential debate with no autocue and no babysitter."

US Vice President Kamala Harris’ only goal during her CNN interview was to “not blow it”, says Sky News contributor Kosha Gada. “The polls have been tightening and she is a little bit ahead,” she told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio. “So even if she just could be normal and not have any big disasters, she would probably consider that as a win.”

Sky News host Danica De Giorgio slams Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek's decision to block a billion-dollar gold mine in NSW on cultural heritage grounds. "For a while, I have been convinced that the likes of the hapless and hopeless Andrew Giles and Chris Bowen are some of the more dim-witted ministers in Albanese's government," Ms De Giorgio said. "I am more and more convinced Tanya Plibersek has joined the ranks.   "For the second week in a row, she is tying herself in knots of secrecy over the decision to block a billion-dollar gold mine in NSW on cultural heritage grounds. "If Labor cannot release the documents and explain its decision, they must reverse it, admit they got it wrong - and make sure this never happens again."

Sky News host Steve Price says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is “walking on eggshells trying to keep everyone happy”. Faced with a rebellion in Labor ranks – the Prime Minister has reversed his position on a new question on sexuality in the census but has refused to call it a backdown. “We are in the middle of a cost of living crisis ... record housing prices, stubborn interest rate levels, expensive power bills despite what Labor tells you, grocery prices through the roof, businesses collapsing on a daily basis and your government is worried about whether to ask has your sexual identity changed since the last census,” Mr Price said.

Sky News contributor Joe Hildebrand discusses Kamala Harris’ first interview as the Democratic nominee where she bought her running mate Tim Walz as backup. “It was a pretty ridiculous interview; it was ridiculous before it even started,” he said. “When was the last time you saw Albo and Marles sit down for a joint interview together? “I mean the fact that she needed Tim Walz there at all, and the fact that he was going to do it with her, you know, Batman and Robin together, in case Batman gets in trouble and Robin can sweep in.”
