Sky News host Danica De Giorgio blasts UK Labour's plan to deport more than 14,000 illegal migrants and foreign criminals by the end of 2024. “The UK Labour government claims it will deport more than 14,000 illegal migrants and foreign criminals by the end of the year,” Ms De Giorgio said. “The plan is being overseen by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, the same Home Secretary in 2015 who boasted ‘refugees welcome’. “It sounds like the plan is being shot to pieces before it even begins. It sounds shambolic.”

Liberal MP Andrew Wallace slams Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for failing to answer questions on Labor’s position about issuing visitor visas to Palestinians fleeing Gaza. “The more he ducks and weaves, the more Australians are right to question why these people have been brought out and the circumstances in which they have been brought out," he said. “To watch the prime minister ducking and weaving more than 30 questions over the last two weeks on this issue, he is clearly all at sea.”

Sky News US Politics Analyst Joe Hockey discusses how speakers at the DNC barely discussed climate change during the four-day event. “The thing that surprised me this week is there has been virtually no discussion at all about climate change,” Mr Hockey told Sky News host Erin Molan. “Americans are not interested anymore they simply want to know if they are going to have cheap energy.”

The Democratic National Convention “wasn’t as exciting” as the Republican National Convention, says The Australian’s Washington Correspondent Adam Creighton. “Which, of course, happened in the wake of the near assassination of Donald Trump,” Mr Creighton told Sky News host Steve Price. “Nevertheless, it was very smooth, lots of good speeches and I have to say Kamala Harris’ speech was pretty good. “The criticism I would have is there’s very little policy in the Democratic Party platform and I thought she may have released something in her speech but she didn’t.”

Sky News US Politics Analyst Joe Hockey discusses Kamala Harris’ DNC address in Chicago. “I thought it played to the crowd but there was nothing in it, no policy substance in it,” Mr Hockey told Sky News host Erin Molan. “She focused on defining herself, which is understandable, I think there is still a lot of Americans that don’t know who she really is and what she really stands for."

Sky News host James Morrow joins Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen to analyse Kamala Harris' address on the final day of the Democratic National Convention. Ms Harris delivered one of the most important speeches in her political career so far as she formally accepted the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. “There were a couple of interesting things that Kamala Harris had to say about the economy in the middle class,” Mr Morrow said. “I'm confused here because suddenly Kamala Harris is talking all about small business, individual achievement and an opportunity economy. “Yet you don't have to go back very far and she's talking about things like equity and equal outcomes and things like that. “Have we seen another Harris flip-flop? Where she's now suddenly painting herself as a red and tooth and claw, capitalist and pro-opportunity, pro-markets, pro-business kind of person?"

Former US President Donald Trump has blasted Vice President Kamala Harris over her speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday. During her speech, Harris listed numerous goals she hopes to achieve if she is elected president in November. The vice president promised to reform the country’s immigration system, vowed support for Ukraine and promised to lift the middle class. The former president, however, challenged Harris’ claims she is the answer to America’s problems. Trump called Fox News following the end of Harris’ DNC speech to point out that the VP is currently in a position to make those changes. “Why didn't she do the things that she's complaining about? She didn't do any of it. She could've done it three and a half years ago. She could do it tonight by leaving the auditorium and going to Washington, DC and closing the border,” he said.

Sky News host James Morrow has pointed out five of Kamala Harris’ biggest lies in her keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention. Mr Morrow claimed the Democrat presidential nominee lied about details surrounding Project 2025, claimed Donald Trump was a wild conservative on abortion, and lied about the former president inciting the January 6 riots. She also claimed cutting the federal Department of Education would take money away from schools and said her experience as a prosecutor taught her the importance of safety and security at the border. “Kamala Harris' convention speech was an artful mosaic of lies, beautifully and sweetly delivered, but in the end still lies,” Mr Morrow said.

Sky News host Gabriella Power has labelled the outcome of a 'what is a woman' court case as a “massive setback” for women’s rights. Transgender woman Roxanne Tickle won gender identity case brought against women’s-only app Giggle for Girls and its owner Sall Grover after she was kicked off the platform. Federal Court Justice Robert Bromwich found the app had “indirectly discriminated” against Ms Tickle and ordered her to pay the applicant $10,000 and her legal costs. Justice Bromwich found that “sex is changeable” after Ms Grover argued it was not. Ms Power argued this sets a dangerous precedent and “does not make Australia a safer place for women." “Giggle for Girls was not designed to discriminate… it was created to help women. But some people need to make it all about themselves,” Ms Power said.
