The observations occurred over 90 days, showcasing Jupiter’s spot changing its dimensions as it contracts. The Great Red Spot is a 190-year-old anticyclone which rotates around a high-pressure area of the planet’s atmosphere. The spot is the biggest storm in the solar system.

Veteran journalist and broadcaster George Negus has died aged 82 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mr Negus' family issued a statement saying George “passed away peacefully today surrounded by loved ones”. They also thanked healthcare workers for supporting him during his final moments.
