Florida residents are being warned to prepare for the worst case scenario as Hurricane Milton is making landfall on the state’s west coast. The storm has downgraded to a Category 3 system but is growing larger as it churns its way through the Gulf of Mexico. The city of Sarasota is expected to bear the brunt of the storm, but Hurricane Milton has already been whipping up destructive tornadoes ahead of its arrival. Authorities are concerned Hurricane Milton could be more deadly than Hurricane Helene, which battered the region in less than a fortnight.

Author Douglas Murray has blasted The Independent newspaper in the United Kingdom for its front page marking the one-year anniversary of the October 7 massacre. The newspaper’s front page read “365 days of horror” and had the Hamas-run Palestinian Health Authority’s casualty numbers on the cover. Mr Murray branded the cover “completely sick” and warned some people can't commemorate the anniversary without trying to “flip” the story. “How come so much of the media has, like The Independent you just showed there to the extent that it is still a paper, how have they ended up just regurgitating Hamas figures?” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

Ms Harris is facing backlash after she took aim at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over claims he wouldn’t answer her call while he was dealing with a hurricane crisis in his state. Mr DeSantis fired back at Ms Harris and said she has never reached out to him during natural disasters and that he would only ever speak to President Biden. “Sorry Kamala he is a little bit busy prepping for it,” Mr Horowitz told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “He’s got more important things to do than deal with your [Kamala’s] craziness.”
Several tornadoes have been seen further inland of Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall. The storm is currently sweeping across the Gulf of Mexico however the fringe of the storm is battering communities between Tampa and further south to Fort Myers. This comes less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on the state.

They're still recovering from Hurricane Helene, which devastated the same area two weeks ago,” Ms Kelly told Sky News host Paul Murray. “And she decides to get political with him and to pick a fight with him.”
