Journalist and Commentator Brad Polumbo slams the “bad faith interpretations” by an MSNBC analyst who said JD Vance wants more white children born in America. “We’re getting these out of context sound bites that are misconstruing his remarks,” Mr Polumbo told Sky News host Gabriella Power. “I don’t think he ever meant to slight women with fertility issues. “That seems like a very bad faith interpretation of his remarks. “They’re [MSNBC] just determined to take anything a Republican politician says and twist it to a totally absurd extreme.”

Prince William and Prince Harry’s tense rift can reportedly be fixed, according to a PEOPLE source. According to a source close to the Duke of Sussex, the brother’s relationship is “very bad” but not “irreparable”. The insider revealed that the Duke has repeatedly contacted the Prince of Wales but his “texts, calls, and messages” are ignored. King Charles has also reportedly ignored attempts by Prince Harry to reach out, with calls and letters going unanswered. “He gets ‘unavailable right now’. His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too,” a source close to Harry said. The Duke of Sussex has not seen his father since a brief meeting in February following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis. Despite the brief but positive meeting between Charles and Harry, the father and son’s relationship has also deteriorated.

‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ host Megyn Kelly has labelled US Vice President Kamala Harris as “moronic” because of her “word salad” speeches. This comes after President Joe Biden ended his re-election campaign and endorsed Ms Harris as the Democratic candidate. “The problem for the Republicans right now is that she has such a short runway, and she’s not going to be so battle-tested,” Ms Kelly told Sky News host Paul Murray. “Battle testing Kamala Harris would be a good thing for the Republicans. “We’ve seen her enough … to know she usually sounds moronic. “If you give her enough time to talk, she will confuse you with her word salad to the point where you’re not sure you and she speak the same language. “She’s not particularly clever; she’s not particularly likeable.”

Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor has responded to the recent inflation data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday. The Consumer Price Index data, released by the ABS on Wednesday, showed annual inflation at 3.8 per cent, up from 3.6 per cent. Mr Taylor claimed Australians are not relieved by figures revealed on Wednesday. “We see inflation in this country stuck around four per cent,” Mr Taylor told Sky News Australia. “The cost of living crisis rages on; the price of everything has continued to go up well above the target level. “The outcome yesterday was well above Treasury forecast, and this is something the Treasurer made a big deal about before the budget. “Treasury’s got it completely wrong, and the Treasurer has got it completely wrong with three failed budgets, homegrown inflation that continues to rage, and Australians are all paying a high price for this government’s complete failure to tame homegrown inflation.”

Republican strategist John Jordan has hit out at US Vice President Kamala Harris. “She is a political opportunist – one minute, she’s a tough-on-crime prosecutor and then in 2020 and Black Lives Matter, she’s raising money to bail out rioters,” Mr Jordan told Sky News Australia. “So, she flips flops and so much a chameleon. “She’s completely disingenuous.”

Olympic Games organisers were warned more than a month ago that their vegan-heavy menu at the Paris athletes’ village would prevent competitors from performing at their best. Sky News has obtained a letter from the International Meat Secretariat raising concerns the plant-based menu would leave athletes craving more protein. The letter warned the plan to make 60 per cent of the Olympic Village meals vegan to reduce emissions would “demonise meat” and impact the performance of high-performing athletes. Paris 2024 Olympics President Tony Estanguet didn’t respond to the organisation’s letter, but on the eve of the Games, he said it was a “collective duty now to change our habits and definitely to reduce our carbon footprint”.

Sky News host Liz Storer discusses the assassination of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr by an Israeli airstrike on Beirut. “Previously, they (Israel) had bombed Beirut to take out another Hamas leader in January, but before that, they hadn’t bombed Beirut since the 34-day war of 2006,” Ms Storer said. “So there was relative, best-as-you-could peace in that particular, and that is now ruined, of course.”

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton discusses the rise of antisemitism in Australia since the October 7 attacks on Israel by Hamas. "The level of antisemitism has not been evidenced in our country's history," Mr Dutton told Sky News host Sharri Markson. "I've been publicly critical of Penny Wong, our Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and also of the Prime Minister, I think they have demonstrated a lack of leadership. "I think we should have zero tolerance for antisemitism in Australia, it has been a consistent message from the Coalition since October 7 and we won't be deviating from that path."
