Commentator Samara Gill gives her thoughts on a new book about Prince William and Princess Catherine, which she says portrays the early days of their relationship as “rocky and tumultuous”. Ms Gill said she did not think this was the case and Prince William was simply “taking his time”. “He saw what happened with his mother. He witnessed his parents’ marriage,” she told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio. “He saw exactly what it took to become obviously, the future Queen of England and he didn't want to just choose anyone.”

Treasurer Jim Chalmers has addressed the “concerning developments” regarding regional airline operator Rex. Rex Airlines has entered voluntary administration and cancelled all capital city flights, but regional services are continuing to operate. “Obviously, these are really concerning developments for Rex, for its workers and for its customers,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia. “We are prepared to play a constructive role, but I don’t want to preempt the nature of that response – let’s hear from the company in the next instance.”

Deputy Opposition Leader Sussan Ley says it has been a “tough day” after Rex entered voluntary administration. Regional carrier Rex Airlines has entered voluntary administration. Rex has cancelled all capital city flights, but regional services are continuing to operate. “It’s a tough day, it’s a tough period, but please remember it’s only the city-to-city Rex flights that have been under threat at this stage and, in fact, have ceased,” Ms Ley told Sky News Australia.

President Biden has ended his re-election campaign and endorsed Ms Harris as the Democratic candidate. “Nothing’s really changed at all. We’re just back to normal, really, because, ultimately, Biden had to go,” Mr Farage told Sky News host Paul Murray. “Frankly, shame on Kamala Harris and others for lying to the American people by saying their president was competent and up to the job when, very clearly, he hadn’t been for a considerable period of time.”

Sky News host James Macpherson says according to The Herald Sun the Victorian cultural heritage land process is delaying houses being built by 18 months or more. “We are all very well aware there is a housing crisis but in Victoria, the housing crisis is being made even worse by their cultural heritage process,” Mr Macpherson said. “That process demands land slated for development first undergoes checks to see if there is any culturally significant sites or artifacts before any houses can be built.”

Australian universities are accused of awarding degrees to students who lack basic English skills. “Universities have this sort of two-edged sword,” Mr McGrath told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “They’re going to get sliced and diced no matter which way they go. “Some courses they can’t run unless they have a large cohort of international full fee-paying students actually in the course. “So Australian students who on merit get to do that course, may not find that course available. “Universities are so heavily geared around … paying their vice-chancellors big dollars.”
