Systems Biology Domain’s Professor Peter Meikle discusses the breakthrough ability to use AI-based learning algorithms to analyse and combine information from lipid species in blood samples to determine an individual’s cardiovascular risk. “The technology we are using is a process called lipidomics, and so what that allows us to do is take the same blood sample you would normally give for a cholesterol test … we measure about 250 different lipid species within that single blood sample,” Mr Meikle told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “We use an AI-based algorithm to combine all the information from those different lipid species into a risk score that is then better able to predict cardiovascular risk.”

A new video of Republican Matt Gaetz praising El Salvador’s crime crackdown seems to contradict Donald Trump’s claim that President Bukele is sending "all of his criminals" to the United States. In a video released on Sunday to Bukele's X account, Gaetz thanked the Salvadoran administration for ensuring inmates "are not harming the people of El Salvador or the United States". During his speech at the Republican National Convention on July 18, Trump referred to Bukele’s strict measures against crime in El Salvador. “In El Salvador, murders are down by 70 per cent. Why are they down? (Bukele) would have you believe it's because he's trained murderers to be wonderful people," Trump said. "No, they're down because they're sending their murderers to the United States of America."

University of Michigan Associate Professor Javed Ali explains how Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle could be removed from the job after being grilled at a House Oversight Committee hearing. “The director level of these departments and agencies they are presidential appointed and also believe the Secret Service director has to go through senate confirmation,” Mr Ali told Sky News Australia. “The Senate alone cannot force a cabinet-level office or someone who is president appointed … member of the government to leave; they all serve at the pleasure of the president. “If the president, no matter who that president is, wants that person’s resignation, they can demand it. “In this case, the director may be asked to resign by the president, or based on her own calculus, she could resign without that hand being played.”
