Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson revealed he called Trump hours after Saturday’s assassination attempt, and the former president didn't talk about himself. Carlson spoke on day four of the Republican National Convention in the wake of the failed Trump assassination. “He said only how amazed he was and how proud he was of the crowd that didn’t run,” Tucker recounted. “Of course they didn’t run; his courage gave them heart.” Carlson noted that Trump avoided creating division post-attack. “He turned down the most obvious opportunity to inflame the nation,” Carlson said. Like many convention speakers, Carlson hinted that recent events might be divinely inspired. “What’s happened over the past month, since the debate and particularly since Saturday in Butler, a lot of people are wondering: "‘What is this? This doesn’t look like politics; I wonder if something bigger is going on,’” Carlson said.
