The passenger who died onboard Singapore Airlines SQ321 has been named as Geoff Kitchen from Thornbury, near Bristol, Southwest England. The 73-year-old died of a suspected cardiac arrest when the flight ran into "sudden extreme turbulence" on Tuesday (May 21) enroute from London to Singapore. His family in Bristol is seeing an outpour of tributes from the local community. CNA's John Bevir reports.

The tourism sector is expected to bounce back this year, with global tourist arrivals set to surpass levels seen before the COVID-19 crisis, according to a report by the World Economic Forum released on Tuesday (May 21). A pair of bronze figures that look deep in conversation now stand at Fort Canning Park -- the site of Singapore's first botanical garden. Nearly 12,000 lower-secondary school students will get front row seats this year to "live" performances showcasing music -- from the great composers to local maestros. The Performing Arts-Based Learning (PABL) programme hopes to deepen students' understanding and appreciation of the arts. The programme will be rolled out to all secondary schools by 2027.
