Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says relations between US and China are in a more challenging place, following Donald Trump's victory in this week's presidential election. While it remains to be seen where tensions between the two world superpowers are headed, Mr Wong says Singapore will continue to uphold the value of multilateralism and build strong strategic partnerships around the globe. CNA speaks to Associate Professor John Donaldson from the School of Social Sciences at the Singapore Management University. He discusses concerns about rising frictions between US and China. He also talks about some areas that Singapore could take the lead in when it comes to strengthening and revamping multilateral institutions.
More rehabilitative support will given to youths who commit less serious crimes such as theft or fraud. From next year, those aged 16 and 17 will be tried for such crimes in the Youth Court, instead of as adults. This gives them access to more early-intervention services. Today marks International Day Against Violence and Bullying at School. In a study that has yet to be published, about one in four upper primary school students say they have experienced bullying.
