Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his military response in Gaza has "gone too far". He said Singapore must continue engaging with Israel and the Middle East, and help where it can. Dr Balakrishnan met Mr Netanyahu, Israeli President Isaac Herzog and other leaders in Israel. Next on the agenda, Dr Balakrishnan and the Singapore delegation will travel to various Gulf states to discuss the consequences of the Israel-Hamas conflict in the region. Israel's military said it has killed around 90 gunmen and arrested 160 people as part of its latest raid on Al-Shifa hospital -- one of the few healthcare centres still operating in northern Gaza. Israeli forces said the hospital was being used by militants -- a claim that both Hamas and medical staff have denied. As the situation on the ground grows more dire, diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire continue. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will return to the Middle East today for his sixth visit since the start of the war. Sarah Coates reports from Tel Aviv.

Indonesia's election commission is expected to announce official results from last month's presidential election later tonight. The poll body has reportedly finished assessing returns from 37 of the country's 38 provinces. It was a three-horse race during the 14 February polls, which saw Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto coming out top with nearly 60% of the votes. Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo trailed in second and third place respectively. Mr Anies Baswedan announced last week plans to file a complaint after official results are announced. Chandni Vatvani reports from Jakarta.

At least three more major banks in Singapore including HSBC, Maybank and Standard Chartered are set to offer a money lock feature as early as June this year. Banks that already started offering the function last November say that while the number of people choosing to protect their savings is growing, most of them are older customers. Every major global climate record was broken last year, according to a report released by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on Tuesday (Mar 19). This prompted the United Nations (UN) agency to sound a Red Alert to the world. WMO climate scientist Blair Trewin tells CNA’s Asia First that last year’s global temperatures broke records by almost 0.2 degrees Celsius, a “very large margin”. Such records are generally broken by “a few hundredths of a degree”, he says. However, a rapid transition towards renewable energy in many parts of the world is a bright spot, he adds. The Health Ministry will increase home palliative care capacity to 3,600 by 2025, up by 50 per cent from the current 2,400. Inpatient and day hospice capacities are also expected to rise by around 15 per cent and 12 per cent, respectively, by 2025. Hong Kong authorities have accelerated the legislative process to pass Article 23, the city’s own national security law. The law covers the offences of treason, insurrection, espionage, sabotaging national security, theft of state secrets and external interference. Maximum penalties for some of them include life imprisonment. Article 23 is meant to complement the Beijing-imposed National Security Law, which only covers four offences.
