Singapore and Malaysia will jointly nominate Chingay for the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The nomination will be submitted next March, with results to be announced in end-2026 at the earliest. The annual street parade in Singapore has evolved since it started in 1973.
