One critical enabler to decarbonising the aircraft sector is the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said the greener fuel could contribute 65% of the reduction in emissions for the industry's 2050 net zero goals. However, production barely meets 1% of the total fuel needs today. Some companies told CNA that they are prepared to double their yearly budget on newer laptops and router upgrades that would enable them to tap on faster Internet speeds, and innovate new products.
