United Nations rights envoy Tom Andrews, who is currently conducting research for an upcoming report, says that documents show that Myanmar’s junta, which has been weakening since October last year, is losing ground when it comes to accessing weapons, and the money that it needs to buy those weapons. The UN special rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar tells CNA’s Asia First that while there is progress being made in the military-ruled country, the international community needs to stand together and coordinate its efforts against the junta, so that it can no longer continue its reign of terror and devastation on the people of Myanmar.
