More car owners in Singapore are switching to electric vehicles (EVs). There are about 11,000 EVs on the roads, 40 per cent more than last year. But they only make up a small percentage of all cars on the roads. Zion Road in Singapore's River Valley district has been identified for potential road repurposing projects. This means it could see wider footpaths and more greenery, aimed at creating a more walkable Singapore. A survey by the Land Transport Authority shows more people walking and cycling. A water salute for Singapore-flagged container ship ONE OLYMPUS at the Pasir Panjang Terminal. Its arrival on Monday (Dec 25) marked a record three billion gross tonnage in ship arrivals for the country. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is hoping for more donations this festive season, with cases of pets being abandoned doubling in the past year to more than 120 this year. Nearly three times more animals were also ditched by their owners. SPCA says many of the 278 pets were smaller animals such as cats, hamsters and guinea pigs.
