Singapore's Family Justice Courts (FJC) has released guidelines to help parties resolve disagreements amicably. Also, where children are involved, their welfare must come first. The Family Justice Courts' model for therapeutic justice involves a judge-led process where parties and their lawyers work together to untangle disputes within the framework of the law. The FJC will move to the former State Courts' building by end-November. It boasts 25 courtrooms and 52 chambers, as well as specialised facilities like child-friendly interview rooms. Singaporeans' losses from scams are down by 40% compared to last year, thanks to enhanced measures. A new anti-scam hotline has received more than 6,000 calls in just three weeks. Mr Steve Lam, ASEAN cybersecurity leader at EY, shared more about the measures, as well as efforts by the Anti-Scam Centre and Anti-Scam Command.
Singapore is doubling down on plans to decarbonise its power sector and enhance grid infrastructure to be more responsive to changes in supply and demand. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong announced these at the Singapore International Energy Week. An upcoming roadmap will be launched later this year to set the direction for future grid capabilities. Meanwhile, businesses could get cheaper wholesale electricity prices under an expanded programme by the Energy Market Authority. The scheme rewards firms when they shift power consumption to off-peak periods, so that the grid will remain stable at all times.

America's top diplomat Antony Blinken is set for another Middle East tour, aimed at reviving ceasefire negotiations to end the Gaza war and discussing a diplomatic solution between Israel and Hezbollah. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has warned that countries may need to rethink net-zero targets amid worsening climate change. It stressed that the target of tripling renewable energy by 2030 is still out of reach. This is despite renewables growing at an unprecedented rate last year. A 25-year-old woman is assisting with police investigations into a case of negligence after a child was rescued from a third-storey ledge of an HDB flat in Canberra Road. The video, which went viral on Oct 20, shows the 3-year-old boy standing outside a residential unit, while onlookers below held out a blanket to catch him if he fell.
