Taiwan has carried out 35 executions since a moratorium on capital punishment was lifted in 2010. Two of Singapore's brightest racing talents aim to race in Formula 1 within the next five years. Christian Ho and Kabir Anurag, both 17, had career boosts this year. Kabir is the first local to join an F1 team's driver development programme, while Christian will be the first Singaporean to race in Formula 3. Meanwhile, Japanese F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda said Christian's success in entering Formula 3 is a big step for Singapore in its F1 dreams. A new smart shipyard has opened, replacing ST Engineering's Tuas Yard as its lease expires at the end of this year. The 14-hectare Gul Yard is twice the size and will be able to handle larger projects. Previously, it could build vessels up to 150 metres, but the new yard can go to as large as 240 metres. Gul Yard also incorporates smart wearables, autonomous vehicles and AI into its operations. ST Engineering Group estimates that these capabilities will save the manpower equivalent of 400 to 500 workers. Rachel Teng reports.

Fewer firms in Singapore adopted sustainability measures in the past two years, compared to 2022, citing a gap in expertise and skills needed. The report by NTUC LearningHub found that a third of employees lacked confidence in their firms' abilities to effectively implement sustainability initiatives. A mental health study on youths in Singapore showed about one in three reported experiencing severe or extremely severe symptoms of depression, anxiety or stress. The research, led by the Institute of Mental Health, involved face-to-face interviews with 2,600 people aged between 15 and 35 years old. Those who went through cyberbullying, had moderate to severe concerns about their body shape, or spent more than three hours daily on social media were more likely to report these symptoms. In terms of seeking help, the study found that about two in three did so. As for those who did not seek help, one reason is the worry of what others may think of them. Sabrina Ng reports.

Indonesia's parliament has passed a revised law that would grant president-elect Prabowo Subianto more powers to create new ministries and restructure his cabinet. Under the revised ruling, the legal limit on the number of ministries will be removed. The Minister of Administrative Reform said the move aims to build an effective and efficient system, which will give more "flexibility to form ministries" that are in line with national interests. Chandni Vatvani reports from Jakarta.

The CEO of Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) and his wife have been detained, as Malaysian police widen their raid over a child abuse case surrounding charity homes linked to the firm. Nasiruddin Mohd Ali was among 19 people detained in an early morning raid on four residential premises in Kuala Lumpur. Over 400 children who had allegedly been exploited and sexually abused were rescued last Wednesday. They were found in some 20 welfare homes believed to be linked to GISB. 171 suspects have been arrested. Afifah Ariffin reports.

Lebanon said 37 people have been killed and more than 3,500 others injured, after handheld devices used by Hezbollah members exploded across the country over the last two days. Wednesday's explosions featured handheld radios made by Japanese firm Icom, which said it exported the IC-V82 model to the Middle East from 2004 to 2014. However, it stopped producing them 10 years ago. According to reports, Hezbollah purchased the devices around five months ago. Icom has denied making the Hezbollah-linked devices. Sarah Coates reports from Tel Aviv.
