World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is observed annually on June 15. This observance was created to shed light on the abuse and neglect that many older people experience. On this day, the focus is on highlighting how our cultural, socioeconomic, and demographic processes can lead to elder abuse and neglect. The abuse may occur in many forms including physical, sexual, financial, psychological, and social. The number of Saint Lucians who are 65 and over represent 9.5% of the total population. This means that we have an ageing population and can expect to see a larger number of seniors in the upcoming years.

She says these institutions compared with countries like Canada, have been less than dynamic to Caribbean nationals. The Barbadian leader was among attendees at the Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum and Afreximbank's 2024 Annual Meetings in Nassau, The Bahamas. Prime Minister Mottley, in paying tribute to President of Afreximbank, Professor Benedict Oramah says the institution has become a bridge across the Atlantic linking Africa and the Caribbean. She believes regional countries need not look north for investments. The police reforms working group Kenya has opposed the proposal by the member of parliament for Mbeere NortRh to amend the Public Order Act (CAP. 56). The group claims the proposals will deny the public or any group the opportunity to present their demands in a progressive manner, which is a constitutional right.

A section of leaders from Kenya Kwanza have escalated the war against politicians who claim that the Mt Kenya region is not united. They were speaking at different functions in Kiambu and Laikipia counties.

The head of public service Felix Kosgei is asking those in charge of finances and accounts in public service to ensure their records are well audited internally to ensure resources meet their allocated purpose. Kosgei was speaking during a meeting with the public finance management committees of state departments on the zero-fault audit campaign. Koskei has further dared those who cannot comply to step aside.
