Seit 30 Jahren regiert der ANC Südafrika. Einst stand die Bewegung für das Ende der Apartheid. 2024 stehen Wahlen an, viele sind vom ANC enttäuscht.  Auch Noluntahndo Hassamo sieht den ANC inzwischen kritisch. Vor allem für die um sich greifende Armut macht sie die Regierung verantwortlich. In Johannesburg demonstriert sie für sicheren und bezahlbaren Wohnraum. Die soziale Ungleichheit wird auch von der neuen sozialdemokratische Partei Rise Mzansi kritisiert, ebenso die wachsende Kriminalität im Land. Andere Parteien machen für alle Missstände im Land die Ausländer verantwortlich und fordern deren Ausweisung. Sechs Milliarden Euro hat die EU den Westbalkan-Staaten an Hilfsgeldern versprochen. The Salvation Army continues to see an increased demand for its services. Divisional Commander Major Robert Pyle said it’s only with the help of corporate Barbados that they are able to help meet the needs. More than $7 million was added to the public coffers yesterday as six properties were sold when the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) held its third auction for delinquent properties for 2023. There was barely any standing room in the auction, which was held at Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St Michael. Bids came in at a rapid pace, even for properties on which the bidding started at over a million dollars. La corredora Marian López se convirtió en la primera atleta cubana en competir en juegos centroamericanos en la modalidad de los 3000metros con obstáculos. Este y otros resultados le validaron obtener el galardón de mejor atleta juvenil del año en Las Tunas y la novata del 2023.
