Ashley Benefield, the former ballerina known as the "Black Swan" has been sentenced for the September 2020 shooting death of her husband, Doug Benefield. Ashley claimed self-defense when she shot Doug in their Manatee County, Florida home. Doug's oldest daughter, Eva, and his brothers asked the judge for the maximum sentence.
