A two-year-old bear is currently undergoing pioneering brain surgery at a wildlife park in Kent to save its life in a UK first. Boki, a European Brown bear, has been suffering seizures and vision problems for the last five months. The veterinary team feared that if they did not operate before he went into torpor, a winter dormancy similar to hibernation, he may not wake up in the spring.
